of f(all)ing - violin and cello
Instrumentation:
violin and cello
Duration:
5 min
Year:
2009
Program Notes:
Written in spatial notation, this duet places communication between the players at its core. Each iteration of the piece is unique in its rhythmic timing, and captures the essence of the players’ ability to relate to each other.
Originally part of a multi-movement work that includes the re(sil)i(ent) sound for string quartet, it is also suitable for performance on its own.
of f(all)ing is sweepingly melodic, melodically weeping. Lines twisting around each other in a tight embrace. Dancing together. The bottom drops out. A spiral out of control.
