9 Lives is a suite of cat-inspired miniatures for string quartet. Each movement presents a episode or activity in a cat’s daily life - pouncing on prey, napping in the sunshine, or causing trouble!
This piece is perfect for children’s concerts as it introduces the string quartet in a playful manner and includes various string techniques that can be demonstrated prior to performance. Additionally, each of the cat napping movements is based on a traditional lullaby or children’s song.
