Woodland Preludes is a suite of twelve preludes for solo piano commissioned by pianists Blair McMillen, Erica Sipes, and Patricia Stowell. The preludes cover the course of a year and draw inspiration from the New England woods. Woodland Preludes were written with the teaching pianist in mind and are meant to be used not only for professional performance, but for introducing contemporary music to young students.
